BEAUJOLAIS
RESTAURANT
It's hard to believe that Chapel Row was once a narrow paved walkway
sandwiched between John Woods magnificent, but now demolished , St.
Marys chapel and a row of 18th century merchants houses. There
was hardly room for the sedan chairs to pass that once plied their way
between Queen Square and Green Park.
It is also hard to believe that it is now over thirty years since Jean
-Pierre opened the doors to his restaurant in this rugby mad city
and made his mark among the locals by converting them to French cuisine
with their first taste of coq au vin, snails, frogs legs and other gastronomic
delights.
Jean Pierre is a local legend.
If you are looking for a quiet night out it may be best to book a table
on his night off.
However good restaurants are all about good food, service and wine. The
Beaujolais will not disappoint with its excellent value lunch or dinner
menus which are enjoyed in a light hearted ambiance and are decidedly French.
