Rossiters
is a store full of surprises, set in a terrace of four former 18th and
19th century merchants houses one of which was built in 1709 making it the
oldest building in Broad Street. Ten departments covering the best in classic
and contemporary furnishings are spread over four floors of this historically
fascinating building.
Charles Dickens, incidentally, resided in the Saracens Head Hotel next door.
The furniture on display on the upper floors is traditional with superb
sofas made by some of the country's most prestigious manufacturers complemented
by fabrics from designers such as Liberty and Designers Guild plus mirrors,
pictures, lamps and objets d'art.
Wallpapers are very special with selections from Osbourne & Little,
Colefax & Fowler, Jane Churchill, Anna French, Monkwell, Ian Sanderson
and many more.
There is even a gift department in Rossiters stocking Floris, Neals Yard,
Crabtree & Evelyn plus luggage, fashion accessories and a large selection
of greetings cards and wrapping papers.
Rossiters is truly a unique store and should be visited to appreciate
the diversity of wonderful items available.
