Maureen
Lechmere met her husband and business partner Mark, in San Francisco
in 1990.
She was running her shop on Pier 39 called The Fudge Factory.
It was during these years that she learned the value of overseeing every
facet of the business personally and the benefit of standing by your
convictions in producing the best product possible.
They both decided to move back to England, specifically to the beautiful
city of Bath, to try and create another successful business "this
side of the pond".
In
1995 they opened their shop called "The San Francisco Fudge
Factory" less than one minutes walk from the famous Roman Baths.
They place a strong emphasis on maintaining the integrity and the quality
of the fudge by using only natural ingredients - whole milk, real butter
and the finest chocolate.
They continue to make everything by hand at The San Francisco Fudge
Factory
to
ensure that every piece of fudge you
eat maintains the highest level of quality.
They individually inspect all ingredients in every batch of fudge -
closely monitoring the temperature and cooking time. A slight variation
would cause the fudge to lose its robust flavour and not set.
Everything is sold by weight.
There is absolutely no minimum order.
They will send any size of fudge.
