Peace
and tranquillity with a relaxing ambience is what guests can expect
in this ideally situated town house hotel which is only a five minute
level walk from all the attractions of Bath and boasts a fantastic view
over Henrietta Park.
A
gracious and stylish 1868 Victorian town house,
Villa Magdala was originally constructed as a pair of family homes
and was named after the Battle of Magdala fought in Abysinnia { now
Ethiopia} in the same year of its construction. A British Expedition
was led by Field Marshal Lord Robert Napier who lived in nearby Henrietta
Street.
First
time visitors are captivated by the period charm of Villa Magdala.
The eminently Victorian style of the interiors with the unusual
cast-iron balustrade of the main staircase reflects the style and grandeur
of the families who once lived here. The hotel has year-round appeal
and the proprietors Roy & Lois Thwaites are on hand to offer advice
if required on the many restaurants within a few minutes walk of the
hotel or the attractions and shopping that is available in and around
the city. No small wonder that many guests return year after year to
enjoy the hotel's facilities.
The Hotel has eighteen well equipped spacious bedrooms.
Breakfast is served overlooking the park in the sunny dining room and
unusual for Bath, ample free car parking in the hotels own grounds
